Frequently asked questions

Can I test webhooks from any service?

Yes. The Convoy playground gives you a unique webhook URL that accepts requests from any provider, including Stripe, GitHub, Shopify, Twilio, Zapier, or your own application. If a service can send an HTTP webhook, you can inspect it here.

Is it free?

The webhook playground is completely free to use. There are no usage limits, credit cards, or trials to test webhooks online.

Do I need to sign up?

No sign-up is required. Open the playground and you immediately get a webhook URL you can start sending events to.

How do I test webhooks locally?

For local development you can forward events from the playground to your machine, or run the Convoy CLI to stream webhooks directly to your localhost. This lets you debug webhook handlers without deploying.

What's the difference between the playground and Convoy?

The playground is a free webhook tester and inspector for debugging incoming events. Convoy is the production webhook gateway you can self-host or run on Convoy Cloud. It adds automatic retries, HMAC signatures, rate limiting, fan-out delivery, and full observability for sending and receiving webhooks at scale.

Ready for production?

Convoy gives you retries, signatures, rate limiting, and full observability out of the box.
